Through the formative years, Harish trained under several Gurus mentioned below, each one of them having played an indelible role in his musical journey:

He is currently under the tutelage of Nada Yogi violin maestro Shri V. V. Subrahmanyam.
Harish was awarded the first prize in Senior Vocal category at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival in 2000. Harish takes immense pleasure in exploring the spiritual realms of carnatic music, taking the audience with him so as to reach their inner depths, making his music a soul-filling experience. He takes particular care in the diction and clarity of the sahityams so the audience can follow with ease. Harish is also keen on the laya aspects having had training from his father Shri Tanjore S. Ganapathy, who is a senior disciple of Dr. T. K. Murthy and Kalaimamani Late Shri Tanjore Upendran.
Harish studies voice presentation techniques under Shri Karthik Ramalingam, a composer, arranger and performer on woodwinds, keyboards and guitars for over 20 years. Harish has also trained on the violin under Shri V. V. S. Murari and under Vidwan Shri T. S. Krishnamurthy while in Bangalore.
Harish holds an M.S. degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He is currently a Systems Engineer with Qualcomm Inc., Santa Clara, CA.
